Bringing Together Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, and Business
Graduates of this 30-credit graduate degree program will be prepared with in-demand skills, including data analysis, programming, new product commercialization, and data generation as well as career skills in the bioinformatics and biotechnology fields. Specific examples include:
- Acquiring a level of competence with scripting and programming
- Gaining hands-on laboratory skills in protein and DNA extraction and assay
- Using bioinformatics and computational tools for biomolecular modeling and DNA sequence analysis
- Analyzing experimental data with informatics toolsets
- Learning about business and research practices to launch new ventures
- Developing an awareness of the related ethical, policy, and management issues
