STE Day 2012 (Old Version)
Science, Technology, and Engineering Day
This partnership with Loudoun County Public Schools captures students' imaginations while teaching them about career options. Energetic workshops are led by corporate leaders, GW faculty, and graduate students who challenge participants through hands-on experiences including: building bridges, wiring electrical circuits, programming robots, treating computerized "patients" in the nursing skills lab, analyzing DNA, and designing computer games.

Welcome to the Sixth Annual Science, Technology & Engineering Day for students in Loudoun County Public High Schools!
Held at the GW Virginia Science and Technology Campus in Ashburn, VA, GW faculty and graduate students will lead you through a day of workshops designed to illustrate different areas of academic study, research, and careers in the fields of science, technology, and engineering.
They will demonstrate how engineers conduct research, amplify how technology has changed and melded with the fields of health science and engineering, and demonstrate how both contribute to different careers such as nursing, cyber security, and engineering.
Exciting and challenging workshops have been developed by GW faculty and graduate students to introduce these careers using hands-on experiments and demonstrations.
You and your classmates can select workshops to match your interests. Please specify your first, second, third, and fourth choice workshops. Each student will be assigned to three workshops. Final workshop assignments will be sent to the schools before the event date.
Follow your dreams or ambitions through any of the workshops offered — we welcome you and your teachers to the Sixth Annual Science, Technology, and Engineering Day for Loudoun County Public High Schools!
