ASHBURN, VA —Under banners proclaiming “Bring Us Your Ambition,” The George Washington University (GW) showcases its academic programs on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the GW Virginia Science and Technology Campus in Ashburn.

The GW Virginia Science and Technology Campus, this year celebrating its 20th anniversary in Ashburn, offers approximately 20 undergraduate and graduate degree and certificate programs in business and technology, education and leadership, engineering, health sciences, and nursing. Program representatives and faculty will be available in the exhibition areas from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. to discuss program options with interested students.

A representative from the Virginia Campus Library will be available to provide information about the library’s resources, as well as the Foundation Center Cooperating Collection. In addition to being a source of grant information for nonprofits, prospective students can search the Foundation Center database for scholarships. In addition, a financial aid representative will be available to discuss financing a graduate or undergraduate education.

The GW Virginia Science and Technology Campus, established in Loudoun County in 1991, is a robust center for innovative research, graduate education, and regional corporate partnerships. As the University' science and technology campus, it hosts a dozen centers of excellence in critical areas such as energy science and technology, transportation safety, and high performance computing. The GW Virginia Campus also combines its research excellence with approximately 20 graduate degree and certificate programs in business, education, and engineering, and unique undergraduate programs in the health sciences and nursing. GW has been serving Virginians for more than 50 years, beginning in Hampton Roads in 1958 and expanding its service across the Commonwealth, with graduate centers in Arlington and Alexandria and the Science and Technology Campus in Ashburn.

The Program Open House is scheduled at Exploration Hall, 20101 Academic Way, Ashburn, VA 20147. The GW Virginia Science and Technology Campus is located in University Center off Route 7, one mile west of the intersection of Routes 7 and 28, twelve miles west of Tysons Corner, and eight miles east of Leesburg.
