GW welcomed David Baker as the new Director of Virginia Government Relations in June 2014..

GW welcomes David Baker as the new Director of Virginia Government Relations. In his new role David will focus on expanding GW’s presence in the region and serve as GW’s liaison to elected and appointed officials in the Commonwealth.

David joins GW from CGI in Fairfax, where he worked in federal government relations. Prior to that, he worked as a lobbyist for the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC).  His Virginia government experience also includes serving as the staff liaison to Governor McDonnell’s Science & Technology Transition Team and serving as a Page in the Virginia House of Delegates for Del. Jeannemarie Devolites-Davis (Vienna).

Additionally, he has worked at the U.S. Department of Commerce, The White House and the United States Senate. He holds a bachelor of arts in business administration from the University of Mary Washington. David lives with his wife, Catherine, and two children, Auggie and Caroline, in Fairfax City.
