The Internet of Things

Wed, 21 January, 2015 11:00pm

Please join us for a Dean's Speaker Series event hosted by Dr. Ali Eskandarian, Dean, GW Virginia Science & Technology Campus.

The "Internet of Things" is the hottest topic in the tech world, but does the hype match the reality?  What is the "Internet of Things," is it really something new and will it really change the world?  Moreover, what are the cybersecurity implications of connecting myriad physical devices to the Internet and to each other? Will your refrigerator soon be sending spam or spying on you and what can you do to safely connect your house and your life to the Internet?

Join us on January 21, 2015, for an evening with Jeff Greene, Director of Government Affairs for North America and Senior Policy Counsel at Symantec, as we discuss  the implications to such systems as process control, environmental monitoring, health care, infrastructure management and transportation.
