Lacey Morgan wanted to run a marathan for a long time. As a GW Nursing student, Lacey had the opportunity to visit Inova Blood Donor Services. It was during this visit that she realized the critical need for blood donation and decided to raise money for the cause.

Years of building research and education programs and working in the community have aligned GW and its interests with those of the Commonwealth. While the Virginia Science and Technology Campus celebrates 20 years, GW's Graduate Education Center in Hampton Roads has served Virginia for more than 50 years, and Graduate Education Centers in Alexandria and Arlington have offered degree programs in their communities for more than a decade.

New members appointed this year are Joanne Theurich, Chief Administrative Officer, HHMI Janelia Farm Research Campus; Lydia W. Thomas, former President and CEO of Noblis, member of the President's Homeland Security Advisory Council, and former GW Board of Trustees member; Richard W. Velde, Esq., Attorney-at-Law; and Tim McManus, President and CEO of Reston Hospital Center.
